Additionally, a Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Relearn (Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction) is required to prevent a check engine light with code P0315, false misfires, or rough running.

• Crankshaft Pulley Bolt Torque Sequence: The crankshaft pulley bolt is a torque-to-yield fastener and must be replaced with a new bolt. Follow the strict 4-stage torque procedure to prevent timing gear slippage and catastrophic engine failure.
• High-Pressure Fuel System Safety: The direct injection system operates at up to 2,900+ PSI. Depressurize before disassembly. The high-pressure fuel crossover tube is a one-time-use component; reusing it presents a severe fire hazard.
• PTU (Power Transfer Unit) Alignment on AWD Models: Ensure the PTU is perfectly aligned and the intermediate shaft is fully seated. Replace seals between the transmission and PTU to prevent future leaks.
• Plastic Oil Pan One-Time Use: If removed, the plastic oil pan must be replaced with a brand-new pan and torqued to exactly 89 inch-pounds (10 Nm). Over-torqueing will crack the plastic pan instantly. Follow TSB 23-2338/24-2345 cleaning procedures.

• Failing to Replace the PCV Valve/Valve Covers During Oil Pan Service: Failing to install the updated valve covers with integrated PCV check valves will cause excessive crankcase pressure to blow out the new oil pan seal.
• Mixing Up AWD vs. FWD Oil Pans: Oil pans and mounting brackets differ between FWD and AWD models to accommodate the PTU. You must transfer your original oil pan and brackets if swapping between drivetrain configurations.
