- Torque Converter Seating: Ensure the torque converter is fully seated into the pump splines before bolting the transmission to the engine. If not fully seated, tightening the bellhousing bolts will instantly crack the pump.
- Subframe Alignment: Mark the subframe alignment dowels before dropping the front cradle to ensure steering geometry is preserved upon reinstallation.
- Fluid Level Checking: This transmission has no dipstick. Check fluid level via the side plug on a level lift with the engine idling and fluid temperature between 185°F and 200°F.
