Following installation, a Transmission Adaptive Values Learn (Fast Learn) must be performed using a GM-compatible scan tool with fluid temperatures between 158°F and 230°F.

- Torque Converter Seating: Must be fully seated and engaged into the front fluid pump (recessed at least 1 inch and spinning freely by hand) before bolting the transmission to the engine to avoid crushing the internal oil pump.
- No Dipstick Fluid Fill & Level Check: Fluid level must be checked via the level control plug on the side of the case with the engine running at idle on a level surface, and fluid temperature between 185°F and 203°F.
- Subframe Alignment: Subframe alignment pins must be used when bolting the lowered subframe back to the body to prevent suspension geometry and steering wheel alignment issues.
- Cooler Line Flush: Mandatory to clear out metal shavings and debris from the previous failure to prevent immediate contamination of the replacement unit.
