• Torque Converter Seating: Ensure the torque converter is fully seated (three distinct 'drops' or clicks) before bolting to the engine. Tightening the bellhousing bolts with an unseated converter will instantly crack the front oil pump gear.
• Thermal Bypass Valve Replacement: If the original transmission suffered a mechanical failure, metal debris is trapped inside the bypass valve. You must replace the thermal bypass valve (Mopar P/N 68203460AA) and flush the cooler thoroughly.
• Fluid Level Check Temperature: Checking fluid level is highly temperature-sensitive. The engine must be running in Park, and fluid temperature must be between 122°F and 140°F (50°C to 60°C) using Mopar Tool 10323A inserted into the fill port near the differential.
• Dowel Pins: Ensure the alignment dowel pins between the engine and transmission are clean and in place to prevent misalignment.

• Using the Wrong Fluid: Filling with standard red ATF+4 or generic multi-vehicle fluid instead of the required green ZF Lifeguard 9 fluid.
