Odometer 59,600 miles 🛡 120-day warranty included
This is a used part. It fits vehicles with the 3.5L 6-cylinder engine (2GR-FKS) and automatic transmission.

This is a 6-speed automatic transmission for front-wheel drive models with the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FE) engine only. For Toyota Camry, this fits models with the 5th digit of the VIN as 'K'. Please verify these details on your vehicle before purchasing.

Know This Transmission Before You Buy

The research behind our purchase interview — recalls, bulletins and real install economics for this transmission family:

A quick look at your own vehicle makes sure the right transmission shows up:

  • Confirm the 5th digit of your VIN is 'K' (for Camry owners) or confirm your vehicle is equipped with the 3.5L V6 engine (for Avalon owners).
  • Locate the manufacturer's certification label on the driver's side door pillar and confirm 'U660E' is listed under the 'A/TM' section.
  • Confirm your vehicle is Front-Wheel Drive (FWD/2WD), as this transmission does not have provisions for a transfer case.
🔎 Where to look: Look at the top of your current transmission's bellhousing (towards the front) to verify the stamped serial number includes the code U660E.

What the install really takes — plan and budget with confidence:

8.5 to 12.3 hoursshop labor$1,100 to $1,800typical shop bill, on top of the partAdvanced to ExpertDIY difficulty

Special tools this job needs:

  • Engine support bar
  • Transmission jack
  • Toyota Techstream scan tool (or equivalent professional bi-directional scan tool)
  • 6mm Allen key
  • 24mm socket
  • Fluid transfer pump
🔌 Wiring harness: The solenoids are highly sensitive to contamination. A thorough cooler line flush is mandatory to protect the replacement unit.

Budget for these consumables at install:

  • Toyota Genuine ATF WS (World Standard) fluid
  • Transmission filter (strainer) and pan gasket kit
  • Torque converter seal (front pump seal)
  • Axle seals
  • Cooler-line flush aerosol (e.g., Lubegard Kooler Kleen)

What’s involved: Transaxle Compensation Code Registration & TCM Adaptive Relearn

The U660E has a unique 60-digit alphanumeric Transaxle Compensation Code printed on a QR label on top of the case. This code must be programmed into your vehicle's TCM/ECM using a dealer-level scan tool (like Toyota Techstream) to prevent harsh shifts and internal damage. The TCM's learned adaptive values must also be cleared.

Pro tips for a smooth first start-up — hand them to whoever does the install:

  • Write down or take a clear photo of the 60-digit alphanumeric QR code on top of the transmission case BEFORE installation, as it is completely obscured once installed.
  • Ensure the torque converter is fully seated into the front pump (typically three distinct clicks/drops) before bolting the transmission to the engine to avoid cracking the pump gear.
  • The fluid level must be set using the overflow plug method while the vehicle is perfectly level and the transmission fluid temperature is strictly between 104°F and 113°F (40°C to 45°C).
  • Gently torque the plastic overflow tube inside the drain plug hole to only 7 in-lbs (0.8 N-m) using a 6mm Allen key to avoid stripping it.
  • Dropping the subframe requires marking the alignment or using subframe alignment pins to prevent steering pull and suspension binding.

Easy to get right once you know them:

  • Mixing up the U660E and U760E: The U760E is for the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine and has a completely different bellhousing bolt pattern.
  • Ordering for a Sienna, Highlander, or RX350: These models use different final drive ratios and mounting configurations.
  • Failing to record the 60-digit QR code before the transmission is installed in the vehicle.
  • Using generic or universal ATF instead of Toyota Genuine ATF WS, which causes immediate shift flares and torque converter shudder.
  • Not fully seating the torque converter before tightening the bellhousing bolts, which cracks the pump gear.
  • Guessing the fluid level instead of performing the strict temperature-controlled overflow procedure.

Not issues with the units on this page — the manufacturer documented these for every transmission of this family, wherever you buy one. Handy for your installer:

moderateWS ATF Level AdjustmentAll

🔎 Recommended at install: Follow the highly specific, temperature-controlled overflow procedure precisely to set the fluid level.

🔎 Recommended at install: Update TCM/ECM software calibration.

moderateTorque Converter ShudderAll

🔎 Recommended at install: Update TCM/ECM software or replace the torque converter.

severeCounter Drive Gear Bearing Seat WearAll (primarily early units)

🔎 Recommended at install: Inspect for whining noise or metal debris; requires case repair or planetary gearset replacement if worn.

🔎 Recommended at install: Address wear in the valve body to prevent harsh coasting downshifts, delayed engagement, or pressure loss.

Researched from factory recalls, TSBs and OEM service data (reference unit 400-62242-5446467). Unit-specific details — mileage, condition, warranty, freight — are covered in the checkout interview.

Policies, in plain English.

Shipping & Handling

  • Ships by LTL freight on a pallet — a real freight truck, not a parcel van
  • Your checkout freight quote covers delivery to your door (liftgate service included for residential addresses)
  • The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery window — someone must be present to receive it
  • Typically palletized and picked up within 2–3 business days; transit time depends on distance

120-Day Warranty

This part includes a 120-day warranty.

  • If the part fails within the warranty window, we'll replace it or refund per the coverage terms
  • Coverage is parts-only — installation labor is not included
  • Warranty covers defects — not installation errors, misuse, or damage after installation

Your pre-purchase interview reviews these exact terms with you before anything is charged.

Returns (30 Days)

We accept returns of uninstalled parts within 30 days of delivery for this part.

  • Defective parts: We will replace the part or issue a refund at our discretion
  • Programming: "Needs to be programmed to my vehicle" is not a valid return reason. Many modules require dealer programming — we're happy to help connect you with resources if your dealer says it's not programmable
  • Return shipping: This part ships by freight (LTL) — the part price is refundable per the terms above, but shipping costs are non-refundable and return freight follows the seller's return terms. Your pre-purchase interview walks through the exact numbers before you buy
  • Parts must be returned in original packaging and unmodified condition
  • Poorly packaged returns that arrive damaged will not be credited

Damaged in Shipping?

Freight damage is rare — and you're fully protected when you do two things at delivery:

  • Inspect before you sign — you're allowed time to look the pallet over while the driver waits
  • Write any damage on the delivery receipt before signing — that one line is what makes a freight claim succeed
  • Severe damage? Refuse the delivery — it goes back at no cost to you and we make it right
  • Photograph the pallet before unwrapping; report concealed damage within 24 hours of delivery

We handle the carrier claim — you just help document it. Your pre-purchase interview walks through this checklist too.

Order Cancellation

Cancel before shipment for a full refund. Once the pallet has been built, a preparation charge may apply — and once the freight carrier picks it up, shipping costs are non-refundable and standard return terms apply. Your pre-purchase interview shows the exact numbers before you pay.
