- AWD vs. FWD Oil Pan & Transfer Case Transfer: If swapping between AWD and FWD configurations, you must transfer the original upper (aluminum) and lower (steel) oil pans and the right-side drive axle bearing bracket. AWD models bolt the transfer case directly to the aluminum upper oil pan.
- Fragile Sensors: Crankshaft Position (CKP) and Camshaft Position (CMP) sensors are easily cracked. Unplug and remove them before mating the engine to the transmission.
