When installing this replacement transmission, you must write the new transmission's calibration data (IP Characteristics) into your vehicle's existing TCM using a Nissan CONSULT-III Plus or equivalent high-end scan tool. Following the data write, several relearn procedures are necessary, including Clutch Point Learning and Select Learning.

Pro tips for a smooth first start-up — hand them to whoever does the install:

• Torque Converter Seating: Ensure the torque converter is fully seated onto the input shaft and oil pump gears (three distinct clicks/drops) before bolting to the engine to avoid crushing the internal oil pump gear.
• Cooler Line Contamination: Must thoroughly flush the transmission cooler lines and radiator cooler to clear out metal shavings or burnt debris from the failed unit.
• Fluid Leveling Procedure: No traditional dipstick. Must check level via an overflow tube system with the engine idling in Park and fluid temperature between 95°F and 113°F (35°C to 45°C).
• Subframe Removal: The entire engine cradle/subframe must be dropped to remove and install the transmission from the bottom.
