• Torque-to-Yield (TTY) Bolts: Many fasteners on this engine, including the cylinder head bolts, are torque-to-yield and must be replaced rather than reused.
• Soy-Based Wiring Harness: Honda uses soy-based insulation on its wiring harnesses, which is highly attractive to rodents. Inspect your original harness thoroughly for any signs of rodent damage.
• Harness Disconnection: On similar Honda models, it is easier to disconnect the main engine harness at the ECU and fuse box and lift the entire harness out with the engine, rather than unplugging every individual sensor in the bay.
