The TCM must be updated with the unique solenoid characterization data of the replacement transmission, and an adaptive relearn (clutch pressure calibration) must be performed using a Honda-compatible diagnostic tool (such as i-HDS). Skipping this will cause extremely harsh shifting, slipping, or fault codes (P07DC, P0736).

- Torque Converter Seating: Ensure the torque converter is fully seated into the front pump before bolting the transmission to the engine to avoid cracking the front pump gear.
