- Torque Converter Seating: Must rotate and push the converter until it drops into the case three distinct times. Failure to fully seat it will crush and crack the internal oil pump upon bolting the bellhousing, destroying the transmission instantly.
- PTU Quill Shaft and Seal Alignment: Replace quill shaft seals and retaining clips. Press the seal squarely into the gearbox to exactly 26mm from the face of the gearbox; do not bottom it out.
- Temperature-Sensitive Fluid Level Check: Must be checked with the vehicle level, engine idling in Park, and fluid temperature between 35°C and 45°C (up to 50°C) monitored via scan tool.
- Subframe Removal: The entire front subframe must be removed to access and lower the transmission.
