After programming, a Transmission Adaptive Relearn drive cycle must be performed.
Pro tips for a smooth first start-up — hand them to whoever does the install:
- Torque Converter Seating: Must be fully seated engaging all three stages (approx. 1 inch recess). Failure to seat will crush the front pump gear upon bolting to the engine.
- Fluid Level Check Procedure: No under-hood dipstick. Must be checked from underneath at the transmission case plug while the vehicle is level, engine idling in Park, and fluid temperature is between 195°F and 215°F.
- Bellhousing Dowel Pins: Ensure alignment dowel pins are in place on the engine block to prevent misalignment and rapid wear.
- Cooler Line Flushing: Mandatory to clear out debris from the previous failed unit to prevent contamination and voiding the warranty.
