Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor pattern must be relearned using a professional bidirectional scan tool to prevent false misfire codes. Fuel injector programming is required if using the injectors that come installed on this replacement engine.

Pro tips for a smooth first start-up — hand them to whoever does the install:

• Write down the alphanumeric calibration codes printed on the plastic head of each fuel injector before bolting on the intake manifold.
• Because this engine was pulled from an automatic (CVT) vehicle, you must remove the flexplate and install your manual flywheel if installing into a manual vehicle.
• The direct-injection fuel system operates at extremely high pressures; properly relieve system pressure before opening lines and never reuse the high-pressure fuel pipe joint.
• Modern engine harnesses have numerous plastic connectors that can become brittle with heat and age; handle with care.
• Pay close attention to the location and condition of all engine and transmission grounding straps.
