Pro tips for a smooth first start-up — hand them to whoever does the install:

• Single-Use High-Pressure Fuel Pipe: Never reuse the high-pressure fuel pipe connecting the high-pressure pump to the fuel rail. Reusing it is the #1 cause of post-install fuel leaks and engine fires.
• AWD vs FWD Oil Pan and Bracket Transfer: If swapping between AWD and FWD configurations, you must swap the oil pan, oil pickup tube, and intermediate shaft brackets from your original engine.
• Fragile GDI Injector Teflon Seals: Teflon combustion seals on the tip of the injectors are extremely fragile and require a special sizing tool to compress them during installation.
• ITM Module Alignment: The Integrated Thermal Management Module (ITM) has plastic coolant passages and electronic actuators. Dropping it or overtightening the mounting bolts will crack the housing.

• Reusing the High-Pressure Fuel Pipe instead of replacing it, leading to high-pressure fuel leaks and fires.
